INDEPENDENCE AND PEACE OF MIND

Mar 30th, 2016

One of the great things about our new partnership with Alarm.com  is our ability to offer you wellness solutions unlike ever before. Alarm.com has taken it beyond a simple emergency button and created a 24/7 safety net for your loved ones.  This safety net not only provides you peace of mind, but it also provides your loved one a cost-effective option for a safe, secure, comfortable, and independent life.

How does it work?

Alarm.com’s Wellness Services help you understand your family member’s routine so that you know when something is out of the ordinary.  Over time, the system tracks behaviors and shows trends that help you detect changes right when they begin.Activity and Alerts  This is achieved by coupling Wellness Services with the latest in home security technology and traditional Personal Emergency Response (PERS) pendants. This combination even allows routine tasks, like turning on exterior lights, arming the security system at night, adjusting the thermostat, and locking doors, to be simplified through automation. Setting rules and schedules is easy to do and it means your loved one doesn’t have to remember to do it every night.  Wellness devices, such as alert buttons and bed sensors, can also be incorporated into your loved one’s system to help you keep an extra eye on things.

Alert ButtonBed SensorAlert buttons can be placed in high-traffic areas of the home, so as to provide a quick and easy call for help should it become necessary. The large red buttons are easy to see and easy to use. Simply hit the button and a signal is sent to the monitoring station letting them know help is needed.

Bed sensors are placed under bed sheets or mattress pads and are pressure activated. When your loved one gets in and out of bed it registers the pressure and sends you the proper alert. A bed sensor combined with motion detectors can even help alert you to a fall. If no activity is detected or the bed is unoccupied for a long time your system knows to alert you of a potential issue.

How is it different from other PERS units?

Alarm.com’s Wellness Services go above and beyond the capabilities of a traditional PERS unit.  Unlike a traditional PERS, Alarm.com sends alerts even when an alert button can’t be pushed. It automatically unlocks doors for first-responders and even offers Mobile PERS functionality, including geo-location services, right from a mobile device. With Alarm.com’s Wellness Services you can make sure your loved one is getting up and about, be alerted if they are wandering or leaving the house at odd hours, and receive a notification if they miss their medication.  Caregiver’s can be notified of potential safety concerns like the oven or stove being left on, receive a notification when the doors are locked or unlocked, and get an alert if a fire or carbon monoxide is detected. With 24/7 emergency response for intrusion, fire, and medical emergencies, as well as persistent awareness of what’s going on in your loved one’s home, you’ll breathe a little easier and your loved one won’t have to sacrifice their independence or the comforts of home.
